3rd Anniversary of the World Urban Pavilion in Regent Park

🌍 Scaling Change in Cities Around the World 🌍

We’re proud to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of the World Urban Pavilion powered by Daniels in Regent Park Toronto Canada, and great support of our funding partner government of Canada, CMHC, and UN Habitat, we celebrated not just the past, but the future.

2024 was a pivotal year of consolidation and momentum. As global challenges intensified climate disruption, inequality, economic fragility the Pavilion stood firm as a bridge between vision and action, accelerating inclusive, sustainable urban transformation.

In this memorable occasion, we launched the third annual report of the World Urban Pavilion: Scaling Change: The Pavilion’s Innovation Pathways. This year’s report captures how the Pavilion connects:
📚 Knowledge → Policy
💡 Innovation → Implementation
🏙️ Local Action → Global Frameworks

With groundbreaking tools like the Urban SDG Compendium, new financial platforms (GPUF, World NEXus), and international city partnerships from Regent Park to Aguascalientes we are building capacity and reimagining what cities can be.

Our work in 2024 deepened:
✅ Strategic partnerships in sustainable urban finance
✅ Launch of the Frontrunner Cities initiative, spotlighting Richmond Hill, Lowell Massachusetts and Aguascalientes, Mexico.
✅ Community-led action through Indigenous leadership, gender-responsive innovation, and culture
✅ Powerful insights from thought leaders; Mitchell Cohen (CEO and President of the Daniels Corporation), Reza Pourvaziry Chair of Urban Economy Forum and founder of Pavilion, David West, Mayor of Richmond Hill, Canada’s First Frontrunner City on Urban SDGs, Prof. Kaveh Madani, Director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), and Dr. Guillermo de la Torre Cifuentes, Secretary of Planning, Participation, and Development of Aguascalientes, Mexico’s First Frontrunner State on Urban SDGs, and Marc Kealey, UEF senior advisory board and moderator.

📖 The report is more than a reflection, it’s a roadmap for action, equity, and resilience in urban futures.
